Honda TT Legends team rider John McGuiness wins the Dainese Superbike race for his 16th TT victory as Honda sweeps top four positions in opening event of TT festival

Isle of Man TT veteran John McGuiness took his 16th career victory in Saturday’s Dainese Superbike event, overcoming a determined challenge from Padgetts Honda’s Bruce Anstey that saw lap times push past the 131 mph average-speed barrier. Riding with the Honda TT Legends team that was formed this year by Honda Europe (with fellow road racing specialist Keith Amor and seasoned racer Steve Plater, along with veteran team manager Neil Tuxworth) to contest selected road races such as the Northwest 200 and the Isle of Man TT, as well as the 2011 FIM World Endurance Championship, McGuiness went on to take a popular victory after Anstey dropped out of the race with a mechanical problem on the third of the six-lap race (the Isle of Man Mountain Course is 37.73 miles long) and add to his impressive tally of TT wins.
