Through a few sources, Dirt Rider has learned that Honda is planning on getting back into the GNCC series supporting a high-profile team. Not since the Scott Summers dominance in the mid-1990s has Honda had much of a presence in that series, or any off-road series west of the Mississippi. The bulk of off-road racing has been conducted in Baja and pretty exclusively on XR based machines. Not until lately, with the teaming up with Johnny Campbell Racing and participating in the WORCS series in the west, has the brand competed on CRF-R machines since these races are technically on closed courses, where the bikes are designed and manufactured to be raced. And we all know Honda as a brand likes to play exactly by the rules and regulations.
