THR Motorsports Baja 1000 Dream Team Press Release
Did you hear that? The winds of change are in the air as THR Motorsports and Bonanza Plumbing have assembled a motorcycle juggernaut to usher in a new era at the Baja 1000. THR owners Scott Jacobson and Rob Sims have teamed with Precision Concepts and Purvines Racing to assemble a dream team of motorcycle riders atop a green Kawasaki KX450F and fueled by Monster Energy. Combining youth and experience, the five rider all-star team includes; Shane Esposito, Robby Bell, Bobby Garrison, Steve Hengeveld and David Pearson. These five talented riders have a combined 15 Baja wins between them. The Kawasaki KX450F prepared by Bob Bell of Precision Concepts. For those unfamiliar with the Precision Concepts name, they have numerous Baja wins to their credit and are always working towards that next big win.
Bell and Hengeveld each know the path to victory, having previously ridden with the coveted "1x" plate of the Baja champion and each winning past Baja 1000 races. The rest of the team wants that "1x" number as well, and there isn't a weak link on the team. Esposito is fresh from winning BITD's Vegas to Reno race, and Pearson is a Purvines Racing rider with a national championship to his credit. Garrison is the baby of the group, but is no novice. The fuel injected Kawasaki KX450F the team will share is a solid and versatile platform. Bob Bell believes that its strong power and light weight give it a distinct advantage for this year's Baja 1000, which will feature one of the roughest courses in recent memory.
THR Motorsports is threatening for the win on four wheels as well. THR driver Mike Childress will be driving the General Tire / Monster Energy Class 1 car that he already took to victory at the Mint 400 earlier this season. Starting third off the line in Class 1, Childress has an excellent opportunity to take home the win for THR Motorsports.
